Liverpool booked their place in the EFL Cup final after a 4-0 win at home to Tottenham, which settled the two-legged tie at an aggregate score of 4-1, but there was no room for Italy international Federico Chiesa, who continues to struggle for game time with the Premier League leaders.
Goals from Cody Gakpo, Mohamed Salah, Dominik Szoboszlai and Virgil van Dijk helped Liverpool through against a depleted Tottenham side.
Chiesa left out at Liverpool again
Though he was named among the substitutes, Chiesa did not manage to get on the pitch at Anfield, and had to watch on as Diogo Jota, Darwin Nunez, Alexis MacAllister, Harvey Eliott and Jarrel Quansah went on instead of him.

Since moving to Liverpool from Juventus in the summer, Chiesa has struggled to leave his mark on Arne Slot’s first team.
To date, he has made just nine appearances across all competitions, made up of three in the Premier League and Champions League, two in the EFL Cup and one in the FA Cup. Most of those run-outs have come off the substitutes’ bench.
