In Germany, the transfer window ends this winter on February 3. Usually January 31 or February 1st is the deadline, since this data falls on Friday and Saturday this year, the Deadline Day 2025 was put on a Monday. However, this is far from the case in all countries. Transfer market gives an overview of the opening times in the Winter Transfer window 2025.

There is uniformity, at least halfway, when it comes to Deadline Day, as far as the date is concerned, for the professional clubs from Germany, England, Spain, Italy (with reservation; see last paragraph) and France. They can all sign players up to and including February 3, but not all up to the same time. For the Bundesliga and the 2nd Bundesliga, as in summer at 8 p.m., the DFL had postponed the deadline defined to 6 p.m. before the start of the season. The transfer window is open for the Serie-A teams for two hours longer, in Ligue 1 in new additions until 11 p.m. and in Spain and England there is time until midnight.

However, this deadline only applies to new additions, because players can hand in clubs such as FC Bayern, Hamburger SV or Manchester City and FC Barcelona afterwards. Because both in Europe and worldwide, a longer transfer period applies in some relevant leagues. Clubs from the Netherlands and Portugal are allowed to hire players by February 4 and those from Austria until February 6th. The teams from Turkey and Switzerland have even better: there is even time there until February 11th and 17th.

Tor instead of transfer list Explains: This is how a change in the Bundesliga To the article In these countries, however, the transfer window opens later, in Turkey on 11th and in Switzerland on January 15. Liges in which the season is held after calendar years start the transfer period later. Teams from Sweden (29.1. To March 25th), Norway (January 30th to 27th) or Finland (5.2. To April 1st) will soon have the equivalent for the summer transfer phase in the European top leagues.

In contrast to summer, short-term offers in the millions after a European transfer conclusion from Saudi Arabia are not possible. The clubs from the financially extremely potent Saudi Pro League only have time until January 31 to sign players.

The fact that there is no global regulation on the transfer phases, meanwhile, repeatedly provides false information from individual associations or at FIFA itself. The Spanish Laliga, for example, had indicated on its website as the transfer , although the change to February 1 had already been communicated by the World Football Association in May 2023. When asked by the transfer market, the Spanish Association confirmed this again and changed the date.

This year there seems to be a more complicated case in Italy. While on the FIFA homepage of February 4, the last date for transfers from the Italian clubs is given, the Italian association insists on February 3. Although FIFA represents the official information, a transfer closure to another date is considered unlikely in the rest of the top leagues.
