The Italian first division club Como 1907 has broken its own transfer record again after less than a week. Midfielder Maxence Caqueret comes from Olympique Lyon and costs 16.5 million euros. In doing so, he pushes 12 million man Assane Diao from the top, who was presented as a new addition last Tuesday.
Caqueret is leaving his OL training club after just over six years as a professional. The former French national team player played 184 games for the club and contributed seven goals and 15 assists. Its market value reached its peak of 25 million euros in 2022 and is currently valued at 15 million euros. At Como, only Nico Paz (20 million) is more valuable.
Como’s expenses this season climb to 79.5 million euros and are the fifth highest value in Serie A – as a newcomer, mind you. The ten most expensive transfers in the club’s history were all made in the current season, including former Düsseldorfer Yannik Engelhardt and Berliner Marc Oliver Kempf.
