FC Bayern would definitely like to extend the contract with offensive player Jamal Musiala. There is apparently no quick solution in sight. In the talks about continuing the collaboration beyond 2026, the DFB kicker’s side is considering an exit clause, according to “Sport Bild”. The first concrete draft is said to contain such a contractual clause that would allow Musiala to leave Munich for a transfer fee of around 175 million euros.
Only Neymar and Kylian Mbappé (to PSG for 222 million and 180 million euros respectively) have moved in football history for an even higher sum. Such an exit clause is considered a basis for discussion by Musiala and his representatives, although it does not serve as a co-criterion for an extension. However, with a planned contract term until 2030, the 21-year-old considers an exit option to be sensible, it is said.
According to reports, FC Bayern absolutely wants to prevent the clause requested by Musiala. The record champions want to keep control of the action, it is reported. There is no release clause in the contract for any player in the current squad – and it should stay that way.
The Musiala side is now accommodating FC Bayern on the salary issue: it is not a prerequisite for a signature that the national player becomes the top earner ahead of top scorer Harry Kane (31) with 24 million euros per year. “I would like to shape an era at FC Bayern. If I extend my contract with FC Bayern, this is my claim and goal. But I also know that you have to work for it: with victories, with titles and big trophies. Then you get a standing like this: I would like to develop that at FC Bayern,” Musiala told “Sport Bild” a week before Christmas.
