Danilo (33) is the only player from the current Juventus squad to have played more than 200 games for the Old Lady; The team captain may not play a single game with the Bianconeri again. A possible change in the winter is not a new topic, but various new reports, for example from transfer reporter Fabrizio Romano, show that the Brazilian has now been officially informed of this plan.

Juventus informed Danilo of the plan on Friday. The current team’s record player is to be put on the market. It would be the last opportunity to generate a transfer fee for the central defender, who is only tied until the summer. Juve should also look for opportunities to sign the Englishman Fikayo Tomori (27), who is five and a half years younger than him, from AC Milan for the center of defense. The Slovakian defender Dávid Hancko (27) from Feyenoord Rotterdam is also an issue. According to Italian reports, SSC Napoli recently emerged as the most likely new club for Danilo. New speculation also revolves around the possibility of integrating Danilo into a deal with Milan for Tomori.

Danilo has had a mixed six months. After only three starting eleven appearances on the first ten Serie A matchdays, the 65-time national player spent most of November on the bench. In December he barely missed a minute in the championship and the Champions League until a minor injury took him out of the game again shortly before Christmas. Danilo’s market value fell below the €5 million mark in the Serie A update on December 18th for the first time since 2011, when he was still playing in Brazil for FC Santos. This means that the two-time Champions League winner (with Real Madrid) is no longer one of the five most highly paid central defenders born in 1991.

Despite the difficult sporting situation at Juventus, he recently rejected any ambition to leave the current sixth-place team early. “I never asked to leave,” said Danilo after the Champions League win against Man City on December 11th (2-0); “I will always be available for the club. (…) Of course, the last performances were changeable, they were not at my level, but I am always available.”
