Daniel Peretz has appeared between the Munich posts seven times since his €5 million move from Maccabi Tel Aviv to FC Bayern in 2023 – six times in the current season. The representative of Manuel Neuer (38) is currently given preference over veteran Sven Ulreich (36) and has tasted blood, as he revealed in an interview with “Bild”. “My big dream is to become number 1 at FC Bayern,” said the 24-year-old after the 5-1 win against RB Leipzig.
For Peretz, there is “not just one way” to achieve this goal. He knows that it will be difficult to follow Neuer’s legend, but “I’m working hard for it.” It takes “patience, hard work and belief in my abilities. And I have to consistently show my performance. I’m very happy at the moment: about the club, my achievements and life in Munich.”
Neuer is currently missing due to a broken rib, but coach Vincent Kompany should be available again in the new year. Since Peretz is currently making a good impression, a loan in the winter is not an issue despite interest at home and abroad. “I’m not thinking about a loan at the moment,” he said at the end of November. After the season, the cards could change again, especially since Neuer’s extension until 2026 is imminent. “Sky” had recently reported on the possibility of Peretz moving on loan and Bayern Cologne signing Jonas Urbig (21) as number two.
If Israel’s national goalkeeper spends the 2025/26 season at another club, upon his return – should Neuer then end his career – he could enter into a duel with Alexander Nübel (28) over the successor. The German international is also on loan from Bayern to VfB Stuttgart until 2026. “We don’t yet know what will happen in the summer. A lot can happen between now and then,” said Peretz.
