With care instead of blocked flick

Without the suspended head coach Hansi Flick, FC Barcelona surprisingly suffered the next setback in the LaLiga title fight. The Catalans lost their home game against the blatant outsiders CD Leganés 0-1 (0-1) and only lead the table thanks to the better goal difference ahead of Atlético Madrid. Champions Real Madrid are one point behind.
Four days after the 3-2 away win in the Champions League at Borussia Dortmund, Barça lost in front of 39,523 spectators with an early goal by Sergio González in the 4th minute. Barça, where Flick was represented on the sidelines by assistant Marcus Sorg, had little to do offensively. The former national coach was suspended for two games after his red card in the 2-2 away draw against Betis Sevilla. Flick is therefore not allowed to actively coach the team in the top game next Saturday against Atlético.
In his absence, Sorg also took over the press conference after the defeat. “It’s tough in the league at the moment, we’re having a hard time in the games. For the first five or ten minutes we didn’t have the focus we usually do. We conceded a goal there. After that, the team tried everything to score. We created a lot of chances, almost five or six 100 percent. That’s a problem. We have to learn from it. It’s a process. “It’s difficult to accept on evenings like these,” said Sorg, explaining that there can also be fluctuating performances after coaching changes. “We are definitely not happy about the trend. But if you want to build a team, you have to accept that there will be ups and downs.”
