The season ended at the beginning of December in the Eliteserie, which, unlike the top European leagues, is played all year round. In this context, Transfermarkt has adjusted the market values in the top Norwegian league. While Rosenborg BK’s Sverre Nypan (17) cements his place at the top, a former Frankfurt player is the big winner of the update.

The market value of Nypan increases by one million to 12 million euros. This makes the central midfielder twice as valuable as the shared runners-up Fredrik Sjøvold (21) from champions FK Bodø/Glimt and Sondre Ørjasæter (21) from Sarpsborg 08 FF. Nypan became Rosenborg’s top scorer with eight goals and seven assists. With his opening goal on the last matchday in the 4-0 win against Kristiansund BK, he ensured that his team jumped to fourth place and was able to take part in the qualification for the Conference League. The 17-year-old has long been in the sights of Europe’s top clubs.

Together with Nypan’s teammate Marius Broholm (19), ex-Eintracht professional Jens Petter Hauge (25) is the big winner of the December update. Both climb from 3 million to 4.5 million euros and, together with Moldes Mathias Fjørtoft Løvik (21), are in fifth place among the most valuable professionals in the Elitenserien. Hauge was one of the top performers at Bodø/Glimt, which celebrated its fourth championship. With 13 goals, he was the second best scorer behind attacker Kasper Høgh (23) in Kjetil Knutsen’s team. Meanwhile, the biggest loss was for Løvik, whose market value was revised downwards by 500,000 euros.

In total, the elite series recorded an increase of more than 20 million euros. The total value of the league is 284 million euros, making it one of the top 20 leagues in Europe. With an increase of 3.75 million euros, champions Bodø/Glimt cemented their status as the most valuable team with 46.6 million euros. The biggest winner is record champion Rosenborg, which climbs from 31.1 million to 36.7 million euros and is behind Bodø/Glimt. Overall, twelve of the 16 clubs are going up, three are marginally devalued.

This is how transfer market market values work

The transfer market market values are created taking into account various pricing models as well as a strong involvement of the transfer market community, which deals with the values in detailed discussions. The transfer market market values cannot generally be equated with the transfer fees actually paid.

The goal is not to predict a price, but rather an expected value. When determining the market value, both individual transfer modalities and situational conditions are relevant to a certain extent. Examples of this will be here listed. Transfermarkt does not use an algorithm (for a detailed definition of market value).
