Aliou Baldé played 87 minutes spread over five Bundesliga games for VfL Bochum, but more recently looked unlikely. Coach Dieter Hecking had left the 21-year-old left winger, who came on loan from OGC Nice in August with an option to buy, out of the squad the previous week for the second time in his four-week tenure at the district. Now Baldé can join VfL again.

“I said it was a temporary decision. Let’s hope that the measure has been implemented,” Hecking told “WAZ” on Wednesday about the rehabilitated professional. He had not previously revealed the reason for Baldé’s temporary exclusion. “There are disciplinary reasons, but the details remain internal,” said Hecking before the Augsburg game (0-1). Shortly after starting at the bottom of the table, he took Baldé out because he showed up late for the second training session.

“Baldé is a young player. It wasn’t about being late either, the excuse was just a bad one. And if he says that he doesn’t have a cell phone number for anyone in the club that he can call and that his car broke down, then that’s very naive to me. Then a young player has to feel: That doesn’t work, anywhere, in any company and not with us either,” Hecking explained on the “Doppelpass” program at the time.

The “Kicker” recently speculated that, as a result of the mistakes, Bochum could try to end the misunderstanding in the winter. Baldé was no longer part of the matchday squad for the last five games. It remains to be seen whether he will get a new chance on the pitch.
