Last year, Transfermarkt published a talent calendar in the run-up to Christmas for the seventh time. Over 24 days, 24 young players were portrayed by data scouts, users, sponsors and editors. Before the start of the eighth edition, we look back and see what has happened to last year’s hopefuls.
Kendry Páez (17), a talent, has already taken part in a major continental tournament. At the Copa América, he and Ecuador narrowly failed in the quarter-finals against eventual winners Argentina (3:5 a.e.). A sextet decided on a new club in 2024, Luis Guilherme (18) received the highest transfer fee of 23 million euros. The Brazilian is one of six players who were able to break the 10 million euro mark in terms of market value. With Tim Chow (18) and Nestory Irankunda (18), two youngsters have made it into the senior national teams. But last year wasn’t a good one for every talent; Moslem Anatouf (18), for example, was set back by a serious injury.
