50th Bundesliga goal

This is how Bayern Munich knows its goalscorer. “That’s typical Harry Kane,” remarked coach Vincent Kompany with admiration after the patiently achieved home win against FC Augsburg. For a long time, the Augsburg goal with the good goalkeeper Nediljko Labrovic (25) seemed to be nailed down, even for Kane. And then the Englishman managed a flawless hat trick in the last 30 minutes.
Phenomenon Kane: The center forward scored twice from the penalty spot – and then, as an encore in the 43rd Bundesliga game, the 31-year-old scored the particularly beautiful goal number 50 from the game. No other player before him needed so few Bundesliga appearances to achieve this goal . Kane replaced former BVB goal machine Erling Haaland; the Norwegian needed seven more games to reach 50 goals in the German upper house. Before Haaland, Timo Konietzka held the record for over 50 years.
“He’s done that so many times in his career,” Kompany said of Kane’s ability to wait patiently for his moment, even after a few missed goalscoring opportunities. The England international sometimes only needs a few minutes to score several goals, even if the opponent defended him well throughout the game, said Kompany. “When he gets the opportunities, he is very dangerous.”
Kane’s coolness at the penalty spot is particularly impressive. He has now converted ten out of ten penalties for Bayern in the Bundesliga. If you take other competitions into account, his last 25 penalties were all in there. “That sounds good,” said the veteran himself about these statistics and added: “I sometimes shoot in training.”
