The UD Las Palmas has moved the file convicted in the case David Rodríguez, the current deputy to the sports commission for a crime of gender violence. The island club has issued the following statement:
Given the final sentence against Deivid Rodríguez, for crimes of injuries and threats in the field of gender violencewe announce the immediate opening of an internal disciplinary file to evaluate the facts and take the corresponding actions according to our regulations and internal policies.
The Las Palmas Sports Union expresses its deepest solidarity and support to the victim and his family. We reiterate our absolute commitment to the protection of human rights and the promotion of equality and respect in society.
The sexist violence is an absolute red line in our club’s policy. We strongly condemn any form of violence and consider unacceptable any behavior that violates the dignity and rights of people.
We announce a zero tolerance policy against any form of violence, reinforcing our commitment to building a safe and respectful environment for all.
