The Iranian national team captain Alireza Jahanbakhsh has found a new club – with SC Heerenveen again in the Dutch Eredivisie. After his contract with Feyenoord ended, the 31-year-old winger was without a club until the end. He was one of the most valuable players with a market value of 2.5 million euros (for an overview). He is now tied until the end of the season.
In the Netherlands, Jahanbakhsh has played for NEC Nijmegen and AZ Alkmaar, alongside Feyenoord and now Heerenveen, where he became top scorer in 2017/18. As a result, he moved to Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League for a fee of 22.5 million euros. With the Rotterdam team, to whom he moved in 2021, Jahanbakhsh won the championship in 2023 under current Liverpool coach Arne Slot.
