Mario Balotelli made his first Serie A appearance in over four years and said it was ‘all he asked for.’
The Italy international joined Genoa on a free transfer last week.
A former Inter, Milan, Liverpool and Manchester City striker, Balotelli was introduced as a substitute for the Grifone in a Serie A game against Parma on Monday.
He was booked after just five minutes, but his Serie A return, combined with Genoa’s second victory this season, excited the 34-year-old striker.
“All I asked for in a picture,” Balotelli wrote in an Instagram story, alongside a photo of his first appearance with Genoa.
He concluded with a few emojis and a message for his followers and haters: “Finally, and now…”
Balotelli had made his latest Serie A appearance for Brescia, in a 3-0 loss against Sassuolo in March 2020.
