Jean-Louis Gasset is taking on a coaching position again. The 70-year-old, who filled in at Olympique Marseille last season, is taking over the job left vacant by Montpellier HSC from Michel Der Zakarian. At 70, he is now the oldest trainer in France’s upper house. In the top five European leagues, only one head coach can do that.

On Sunday, Der Zakarian had to retire from the bottom team in Ligue 1. Gasset moves up. It is a comeback at the club whose team he looked after as co-coach and head coach for a long time in the 1990s and where he played professional football for ten years.
