Debate after non-nomination

Before the away game in the Nations League against Belgium, there is further discussion in France about Kylian Mbappé’s personality. The 25-year-old Real Madrid superstar was not selected for the Équipe Tricolore squad for both October international matches in order to be rested. According to a report, this could become a habit and Mbappé will only be used in important games for his country.
While his teammates successfully played the first game against Israel 4-1 on Thursday, Mbappé was photographed in a Stockholm nightclub, which once again fueled the debate about the justification of his exceptional status in France. Although the striker was still suffering from a muscle injury at the end of September, he was back in the starting line-up for Real Madrid against Villarreal last weekend. The skepticism about Mbappé’s attitude, especially in the national team, had been raised repeatedly in the past. A current report from the “footmercato” portal has now fueled this – according to which the 2018 world champion wants to concentrate fully on his first season with the Royals in LaLiga and on winning the Ballon d’Or. In view of the increasing discussion in recent weeks about overloading top international professionals, Mbappé wants to reduce the risk of injury by initially reducing his time at Les Bleus.
Guendouzi on Mbappé debate: “Stop talking about it too much”
According to Lazio Roma’s Mattéo Guendouzi, the media coverage of the past few days surrounding Mbappé has been received calmly within the French team. “If there is a lot of talk about Kylian in the media, it is because he lives for himself and will continue to do so in the future. That’s for sure. We have no doubts about him,” said the midfielder, who added:
“He is someone who is linked to us, to the French team. Of course we were all a little disappointed that he didn’t help us in these two games. But there are reasons why he isn’t there. He wasn’t 100 percent fit. We all know that. He is a player who loves his country and this team and will help us get them back to the highest level. We need to stop talking about it too much because there really is nothing wrong with him. On his days off he does whatever he wants. Because of what he has done in the Blues, what he is doing and what he will do, the question of his attachment to the French team should not even arise.”
