Álvaro Morata returned to play with the national team this Saturday after missing La Roja’s September matches due to the suspension and some physical discomfort. The captain received the warmth and affection of the enthusiastic stands of the Enrique Roca stadium. And his teammate Baena gave him a ‘capotazo’, an all-out defense against the criticism that the Madrid native has received.
“He has had a difficult time, he is having a hard time, but more so because of the people of the country who beat him up a lot. And I have always said that I wish they could spend a few days, a week with Álvaro so that they know what he suffers, how much he loves football and what a good person he is. And what helps us in the selection and people would change their perception of him”Baena said.
