With the implementation of Qatar’s 2nd league, Transfermarkt’s database is growing to include another competition. The record champions of the Qatari Second Division are Al-Markhiya SC with six trophies.
One of the biggest names in the league, in which relegation to the third division is not possible, is currently ex-Premier League professional Benik Afobe, who once played for Bournemouth. With David Malembana, born in Freital and an active national player for Mozambique, there is also a player with German nationality in the league.
