Join us for the opening Europa League game of the season, as Lazio face off with Dynamo Kyiv on neutral turf in Hamburg.

It kicks off at the Volksparkstadion at 20.00 UK time (19.00 GMT).

Like the Champions League, this season the Europa League and Conference League have also changed formats to a single league table.

The teams will each face eight different opponents – four at home and four away – with the top eight teams going straight to the Round of 16, sides ranked 9-24 enter play-offs and 25-36 are eliminated from Europe.

Shaparenko trying to surge forward, but Rovella sneaks up and steals the ball with a fine tackle.

Kabaiev cuts inside from the left, but his shot is spectacularly over the bar. He scuffs annoyed at a divot in the turf.

Lazio again, Luca Pellegrini gets down the left, his cross-shot is smothered by the goalkeeper.

Dynamo Kyiv 0-1 Lazio: Boulaye Dia!

Perfect start for Lazio! Initial cross is cut out, so is another rather weak attempted clearance, Pedro completes the give and go for Dia, who runs into the box and scuffs the low finish into the far bottom corner!

Lazio are in their yellow away kit with dark shorts. It looks quite Borussia Dortmund.

Cross into the box from Tchaouna, Pedro tries to control, but ends up committing a foul.

25 seconds and already a chance for Dynamo Kyiv, as Vanat bursts down the left and squirms between two defenders, but is cut off.

Keeping you up to date

As you can see on the live scores above *points up* you can keep an eye on the other results in the Europa League AND the Coppa Italia, with the Derby della Lanterna between Genoa and Sampdoria tonight.

Pedro (Lazio) on Sky Sport Italia

“It’s always wonderful to play in Europe and I think it’s important for us. We have a difficult match against a strong opponent and will see if we can get a positive result. The tempo is always high in Europe, but Lazio are working well and I am happy to be in the competition with them. We are all motivated and hope to do well. The coach is working hard on his tactical ideas, I think we’ve already seen some of his potential and we want to push even harder to get the result. I still enjoy myself, otherwise I wouldn’t still be playing. Time goes fast, but I try to enjoy every minute I spend on the pitch, especially in Europe, which is special to give the team a step forward.”

Dynamo Kyiv for obvious reasons cannot play in Ukraine, so they are hosting this match on neutral turf in Hamburg instead.

They have a lot of injury problems to contend with, missing Matviy Ponomarenko, Denys Popov, Mykola Mykhaylenko, Nazar Voloshyn and Volodymyr Shepelev.

Elsewhere, Porto are already losing 3-1 to 10-man Bodo/Glimt, so surprises in the Europa League.

Heavy squad rotation for Lazio, but not in goal, where Ivan Provedel remains. It’s a bit of an odd one for him, as his mother is Russian – hence the name Ivan.

Tijjani Noslin was expected to start, but he is not 100 per cent fit. Taty Castellanos is only ready for the bench and Samuel Gigot is injured.
