Red Bull Salzburg and central defender Oumar Solet are going their separate ways. The Frenchman’s contract, which was originally valid until the end of the season, has been terminated. The 24-year-old was actually supposed to be sold in the summer, but a transfer did not materialize. Despite an agreement between the clubs, a transfer to TSG Hoffenheim reportedly failed due to a medical check, among other things.

Solet was a regular in RB’s defence last season, playing 21 league games. However, due to internal problems, he was excluded from the Mozart City team’s first team in the summer and had to train with farm team FC Liefering in the 2nd league until the end of the transfer window, although he was not eligible to play for them. With a market value of 10 million euros, Solet is currently the second most valuable player without a club after fellow countryman Adrien Rabiot (29).
