Fenerbahce has presented former Bundesliga professional Filip Kostić (31) as a new signing. After the Istanbul club announced an agreement with Juventus Turin on Sunday and showed the ex-Frankfurt player upon his arrival, the contract has now been signed. It is a loan with an option to buy. Under coach José Mourinho, he is the twelfth new signing of the Sari Kanaryalar this season and one of the few who initially cost no transfer fee.
Kostić is said to have rejected several offers from other European leagues, but the search for a way out of his situation in Italy was almost unavoidable. The Serb, who was called up 87 times by Juve, did not play a single minute in the new championship round. In his first season, he was the most used professional with 54 games and a top provider with eleven assists. Over the course of the last season, he increasingly lost his place in the starting line-up.
In August 2022, Kostić moved from Frankfurt to Turin for 14.7 million euros. His market value at the time was 24 million euros, well below the highest value of his career – 40 million euros in March 2020, while playing for Eintracht. Kostić is now valued at just 6.5 million euros. From his successful time at SGE, with whom he sensationally won the Europa League in 2022, he has 33 goals and 64 assists to his name. At Juve, he ended up with three goals and 15 assists.
