After winning gold in Paris and being welcomed as a true heroine in Algeria, the life of Imane Khelif is no longer the same as it was before the 2024 Olympic Games began.
After all the circumstances surrounding the Algerian boxer’s presence in the rings of the Parisian capital due to the issue of her intersexuality, the Olympic champion reappeared in public life with a totally different look than the one she showed in Paris.
So much so that Khelif showed a video in which she appeared with a completely different image to the one that millions of viewers saw at the Olympic event. With this new figure, the boxer seems to want to turn the page on all the problems that came to her person through well-known personalities who criticized her for her physical appearance and that she sued several celebrities, including Donald Trump, Elon Musk either JR Rowlingamong others, for alleged ‘cyberbullying’.
“They have insulted my honor”
Imane Khelif: “I am a woman and my honour is above all else”
In an interview with AP, Imane has opened up about what happened in Paris and all the attacks received at the Games. “Honestly, I don’t like to mix politics with sport. Sport and politics are two separate things and some politicians have been unfair to me. They have no right to say that I am transgender. This is a great insult to my family, to the honour of my family, to the honour of Algeria, to the women of Algeria and especially to the Arab world.

The boxer did not hold any grudges. “Everyone knows I am a Muslim girl. If anyone wants to apologize to me, I will accept it.“If someone apologizes to me, I will certainly accept it. But to those who do not apologize, I send a message: I am a woman and I will remain a woman. And my honor is above all.”
