After Wolfsburg candidate Jørgen Strand Larsen (24) was introduced to the English Wolves on Tuesday, VfL is apparently about to sign Mohamed Amoura. Transfer reporter Sacha Tavolieri and the portal “Footballtransfers” both report that the final agreement between the clubs is close. The 24-year-old striker from Belgian runner-up Union Saint-Gilloise is due to travel to the Autostadt on Wednesday for a medical check.

According to reports, a transfer fee of around 20 million euros is due for Amoura, who scored 22 goals and seven assists for Union last season and is under contract there until 2027. This would make him the fifth most expensive signing in Wolfsburg’s club history. Since the record transfer of Julian Draxler (30) in 2015, the Wolves have only spent more money on midfielder Lovro Majer (26; cost 25 million in 2023) than they are now likely to spend on Amoura. The Belgians, for their part, only earned more with the sale of Bayer double winner Victor Boniface (23) a year ago: 21.7 million euros.

So far, Wolfsburg has signed goalkeepers Kamil Grabara (25) and Marius Müller (30) as well as midfield talent Bence Dárdai (18) – cost: 15 million euros. Amoura could take the place of Jonas Wind (25), who is said to be aiming for a move. However, there have been no concrete rumours about the Danish European Championship driver recently. Aster Vranckx (21), who is being courted by Oliver Glasner’s Crystal Palace and SSC Naples, could bring in transfer revenue in the near future.
